Our Development Journey......

2009

September

The Idea to develop Lega started when the founder’s son was hit with chronic breathing difficulties. Living far away from any physiotherapist, he needed to find a way to perform regular chest percussion to treat his son. Being a mechanical engineer by training, he decided to develop a machine that can perform chest percussion

2012

January

Clinical Trials for Lega is completed with outstanding results on efficacy to patients with breathing difficulties and symptomatic relief for COPD, Bronchitis etc..

2010

January

Within a few months of the idea, the first mock-up of Lega was developed with help from his family practitioner and a former manufacturing client. The mock-up worked for his son and had a lot of interest from friends that had similar breathing difficulties and access to therapist in the area. He then realized that this device can benefit people in similar situation as himself

2016

March

First batch of Lega sold to respiratory department of Penang General Hospital after careful evaluation and clinical testing

2010

June

With support and encouragement from his family, James Ng started Formedic Technologies with the goal to further develop the device for mass production as a certified medical device. By combining the expertise of medical practitioners, Physiotherapist and with his engineering background, they had an ambitious plan to develop and create the first production  prototype in the next 3 months

2010

October

The 1st production prototype Lega is ready after more then 1000 man hours on development by Formedic Technologies multi disciplinary development. With the goal of being the certified medical device, they realized that the device had to be acknowledge and recognized by the Malaysia Ministry of Health.

2013

March

First batch of Lega sold to respiratory department of Penang General Hospital after careful evaluation and clinical testing

2011

January

Formedic Technologies presented the Lega to the Ministry of Health Malaysia and was acknowledge as a device that can complement the good work of physiotherapist in providing percussing treatment
